Our Dad, Harry, passed away on 19th January 2025 at Oakridge House Care Home, aged 96. He is now reunited with his beloved wife Shirley. Harry will be sadly missed by his sons Ian and Neil, daughter Julie and his wider family and friends.

So why Dementia UK?

Our Dad was proud and fiercely independent and found it difficult to adjust to his increasing frailty and the impact of his dementia; the hardest thing for him to accept was being dependent on others. Whilst Dad had fantastic care from the wonderful staff at Oakridge House, had he been able to stay at home, which was his greatest wish, the support from the Admiral Nurses (Dementia UK) would have made all the difference both to Dad and to his family.
